this is the first issue with me as an editor! my photo of my friend kristina and her daughter halle on the cover. (beth proudfoot did the layout) and my layouts in the table of contents. and in the chapter openers!!! they chose me as featured designer, so i even have a little "spotlight" on me too.

i am just so happy because i just love working for simple scrapbooks. the people are so incredible, so inspiring, so nice. i love what the magazine stands for and how it looks. and i feel soooo honored to be a part of it.

i am so excited about this. this layout is on the cover of the nov/dec issue of simple scrapbooks magazine.

and guess what?

I TOOK THAT PICTURE!!! that is my best friend jalayne, her mom sherri, her stepdad jerry, and her sister in law summer.

they tell me they have gotten recognized. i just think its so fun. i have been more excited about this than i was the first time i got a layout picked up. it is such an honor and i feel so lucky.

(look for more of my photos in the magazine in upcoming issues. and POSSIBLY wink wink some of my client images! i will post them here when they are on the newstand.)

i have to share the news of my friend stacy julian, she has the most contagious spirit of anyone i have ever met. you want to do anything she says because she makes it all sound so amazing and fun and easy. i love getting unexpected phone calls from her because of this-she makes me feel energized.

she is also altogether too happy. :)

simple pleasures*

yesterday, busy day-running around with the kids after school. doorbell rings, i hear a box drop on my porch. mckenna runs to meet me at the door,

"whos here mommy? mommy get a boOX?"

i open the door and i did have a box. from primedia. not expecting anything, i rip it open like a wild animal. (why do i act like that? the MINUTE, SECOND i see a box or card or letter, i RIP into it like a wild animal. anyone else do that?)

anyway, this was inside, and it made me feel incredibly glee filled. no other way to say it. :)
